Remarks

This introduced species was first recorded in North America in Queens, New York City in 2000. Only within the last decade has the species spread beyond western Long Island. It was first recorded on Block Island in 2016, though it may have gone unnoticed in 2015 and certainly earlier. The species is now established in CT and downstate NY and across Long Island in addition to the New York City area and Block Island. Adults have been found as far as northeastern Massachusetts, but the species may not yet be established in the state. No records are yet known from Rhode Island or New Jersey.
