Male with bipectinate antennae.

Life History

Bivoltine on Block Island, flying mainly June and early July and again in August. The species appears to be restricted on Block Island largely to dune habitats.

Identification

A highly variable species. Refer to this collage of live photographs of 20 individuals (all but two or three male) from Block Island to see the range of maculation exhibited in the island's population.
