Strepsicrates smithiana

620737.00 — 2907 — Strepsicrates smithiana Walsingham, 1891 — Bayberry Leaftier

Larval Host(s)

Presumed main host
on Block Island:

Known hosts:
Myrica pensylvanica

My impression is that this species is primarily bivoltine on Block Island with a partial third generation flying in the fall. Larvae are easily found tying terminal leaves of bayberry; a study of larvae could easily conclusively establish local voltinism.
