Remarks

This variable species has a morph with a cream border on the forewings that was first recorded on Block Island in 2020. This bicolored morph appears to be uncommon range-wide based on online records. The basis of this dimorphism is unknown.

Life History

Bivoltine on Block Island, with peaks in abundance in May and July and records from late April to late September. Rare at AH, indicating that bayberry is not a suitable host.
